SAST April 2013 Article
With the end of our season drawing closer, the San Angelo Symphony is taking a moment to reflect on what has been memorable year. The sounds of music make footprints in our souls throughout our lives. The Concho Valley is blessed by an orchestra that provides the highest caliber of professional symphonic music. Through our subscription performances, music educational offerings and various civic events we strive to enhance the quality of life for our residents by bringing you closer to the music.
Our organization is thankful for our loyal patrons, generous local businesses and supportive community for doing your part to continue the music with us. With ticket sales accounting for a very small portion of annual operating expenses, the San Angelo Symphony relies on the gifts, small or large, from people like you, to ensure we are able to continue the legacy of the San Angelo Symphony Society. In the coming weeks, the Symphony will announce the anticipated 2013-2014 season and we ask that you consider making a commitment to our continued success. The San Angelo Symphony believes in enhancing the lives of those in the Concho Valley through our artistic, education and community programs. We ask that you partner with us and invest in the fine arts of our area.
The Symphony is elated to close out the 2012-2013 All You Need Is Love season, on a high note with our Wells Fargo Family Pops Concert featuring The Classical Mystery Tour in Come Together – A Beatles Tribute. Coming to West Texas for the first time, Classical Mystery Tour is more than just a concert. The show presents more than two dozen Beatles tunes sung note-for-note while your San Angelo Symphony orchestra performs along. Even more, the four musicians look and sound just like The Beatles!
The San Angelo Symphony chose to partner with Classical Mystery Tour to offer our community the opportunity to witness a thrilling evening that is sure to leave you with goose bumps! Opening in 1996, this show has traveled through the United States and around the world building a reputation for authentically reproducing the original recordings of The Beatles with the talents of various orchestras in a live concert setting. This unique brand of entertainment is sure to provide San Angelo with a rich musical experience.
Join us on Saturday, April 20th at 7:30pm as we welcome The Beatles to the Junell Center on the campus of Angelo State University.
