Claire Wells, age 12, studies violin with Gary Levinson (and her parents), and piano with Gabriel Sanchez. The winner of several local competitions and a national competition, Claire has performed violin concertos with the Elan Festival Orchestra, the Plano Symphony, the Lewisville Lake Symphony, Ft. Worth Symphony musicians, and with a chamber orchestra in Munich, Germany. With the Suprima Chamber Orchestra in Wichita, she performed a piano concerto and a violin concerto on the same program. This year, she has been invited to perform solos in Moscow, Prague, Dallas, and Irving, TX.
Claire also loves chamber music, and performs this summer at the Sunflower Festival and at the Music at Menlo Festival (her second year). Claire’s school is Spring Creek Academy in Plano,TX and her dog is Pizzicato, a rather brilliant Coton de Tulear. In her spare time, Claire enjoys accompanying and improvising on the piano, reading, running, and playing with Pizzi.
